Sign the Seattle City of Literature Petition

You know that Seattle is one of the most creative cities in the world. It’s time to let the rest of the globe know. With your voice, we will.

Please add your signature to our petition expressing support for our 2015 bid to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as a City of Literature. It’ll take less than a minute:

I support Seattle’s City of Literature bid!

Previously, we asked for your expressions of support to Seattle City Council and Mayor Murray. Thanks in large part to your emails, we were able to forge a partnership with Seattle’s Office of Intergovernmental Relations, which manages our Sister Cities programs. We’re now working closely with the OIR to prepare our bid. Democracy in action!

  1. I would love for Seattle to become a City of Literature and join a larger vision of arts in the world. As someone with feet in many worlds (the octopus logo is appropriate) a love of the arts seems to be the commonality between the people I meet, am related to in several countries, and teach in my daily life. Art is the ferry boat that allows us to share ideas and experiences that might otherwise be lost or neglected along the way. Art is an expression of hope, trust, and solidarity, and we are going to need a lot of that in the coming years. I commend Ryan and now Rebecca for launching us on this great endeavor.
